As a photographer, I’ve had the pleasure of working at some of the city’s most luxurious Boston wedding venues. From historic landmarks to memorable experiences, Boston offers a range of options for couples seeking a luxurious setting for their big day. Whether you are looking for an intimate elopement or a large celebration, here are the top five venues in Boston, each providing exceptional service and a beautiful backdrop for your wedding.

Boston Public Library Wedding

The Boston Public Library is one of the most iconic Boston wedding venues sitting right in the heart of Copley Square. The Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor Hotel is a hidden gem in Boston! This luxurious venue sits right on the waterfront and has incredible city views. It is located just minutes from Logan Airport, so not only is it convenient if you have guests flying into Boston, but also provides a different perspective of the city. 

With options for both outdoor and indoor events, the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor accommodates weddings of all sizes. Choose between a tent along the Harbor or two elegant ballrooms indoors: the Grand Ballroom, hosting up to 500 guests, and the intimate Skyline Ballroom, accommodating up to 200 guests. On-site hotel rooms provide a convenient space for getting ready, while the lobby bar offers a perfect spot for pre- or post-wedding gatherings.

The outdoor area for portraits is unmatched! Since this area is pretty isolated, you don’t need to worry about lots of foot traffic in the background of your photos.

InterContinental Boston

The InterContinental Boston, an IHG hotel, is among my top choices for Boston wedding venues! The views overlooking the Seaport and Boston Harbor are incredible! Whether you would like an intimate ceremony or a large reception, there are many versatile event spaces available and planners on staff to assist you. 

One notable feature of the InterContinental is its spacious meeting rooms available for getting ready! If you have a large wedding party it provides ample space to accommodate multiple hair and makeup artists and vendors in one space, instead of all in a hotel room. This venue offers lots of variety for your photos both at the hotel and around the city. You can step outside and be on the waterfront or take a trolley to another iconic Boston location. Additionally, they also have many indoor spots that are great as a rain backup. Plus, they are dog-friendly! I loved working with For the Love of Paws at this wedding so they could bring their St. Bernard along!

While the service is exceptional at all of these Boston venues, the InterContinental truly stood out to me! The food all around was fantastic for both guests and vendors.

Four Seasons Back Bay

The Four Seasons Hotels are known for their luxurious accommodations and amenities. So if you are looking for a Boston wedding venue that is class, elegant, and timeless, this is for you! While there are two Four Seasons Hotels in Boston, I prefer the Four Seasons on Boylston Street. It is located right in the heart of Back Bay which is so picturesque for photos. It is within walking distance of many Boston landmarks, but I recommend heading to the Boston Public Garden right across the street for portraits with your families and wedding parties.

The hotel offers indoor ceremonies in a separate space from the cocktail hour and reception. When your guests enter the ballroom it certainly has the “wow” factor! It is simply stunning and the layout of the dance floor and tables is amazing! The staff is excellent and everything is extremely well executed.

The State Room

The State Room is one of Boston’s highly sought-after wedding venues. This venue sits atop an iconic skyscraper in the heart of Boston and offers panoramic views of the city, including the stunning clock tower.  

Consider staying at a nearby hotel like the Marriott Long Wharf to get ready with your wedding party and take portraits around Faneuil Hall and the Old State House. The city’s traditional cobblestone and brick backdrop will give your photos a timeless feel. Then, host your ceremony and reception in The State Room. It is incredibly chic and elevated with an enormous space you can make your own. You won’t need to search for outside caterers and will be able to use their trusted team and select your dishes from their menus. Your guests will absolutely be talking about their experience for years to come! With gigantic floor-to-ceiling windows, you seriously can’t beat the views!
