The Herb Lyceum Wedding

The Herb Lyceum is one of my favorite wedding venues in Massachusetts! Amanda and Tom went back and forth between eloping and having a big wedding. When they found this venue, they knew it was the perfect in-between for a small, intimate celebration. They wanted to get married in a garden or greenhouse, and the Herb Lyceum had everything they were looking for.

Surrounded by lush greenery and beautiful nature, it’s truly a hidden gem. The food is amazing, with a menu that changes with the seasons. The staff is welcoming to everyone on the property. What I love most about The Herb Lyceum is how it aligns with my interests and passions. It’s the ideal blend of everything I enjoy—an intimate space, delicious food, and perfect wine pairings—and it was such a pleasure capturing Amanda and Tom’s special day.

Amanda and Tom met back in 2011 through mutual friends and are still very close with their college friends. These two are laid-back, funny, and happy! They got engaged in September 2021 on the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park. Tom had wanted to propose under the stars, but it was cloudy the whole weekend. Still, it was an amazing and intimate moment, just the two of them and their dog Kylo.

Intimate Garden Wedding in Massachusetts

They started the day getting ready in the Birch and Stone House, nestled on the venue’s property. They stayed apart, each in their own rooms, ensuring their first look would be during the ceremony. It was a special, quiet morning with just Kylo, their parents, and siblings joining them.

As they stepped outside, they were greeted by a beautiful summer day at the Herb Lyceum. They headed to the outdoor ceremony space with the pergola in the garden, where they exchanged heartfelt “I do’s” surrounded by their loved ones. Immediately following the ceremony, we captured their love in portraits all around the gardens. We of course included Kylo!

Greenhouse Wedding at The Herb Lyceum 

While there is so much to love about this venue, the greenhouse is my favorite! The attention to detail is incredible. After taking some portraits, we did a reveal of the reception space with just Amanda and Tom. Their reaction was so cute!

They put so much love and effort into every detail, and it showed. Amanda selected a color palette of soft greens with pops of blush and rose gold throughout the decor. The venue is already abundant with flowers and color, so keeping it simple and classic was the perfect touch.

Despite a summer storm rolling in later in the day, their joy wasn’t dampened. Dinner was served in the greenhouse, bringing all their guests together at two long farmhouse tables and a sweetheart table for Amanda and Tom. We heard heartfelt speeches and enjoyed delicious meals. As the night went on, they danced under the stars, gathered around a cozy bonfire, and enjoyed sweet desserts outside. It was a magical celebration of love, laughter, and happily ever after.
