Unique Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor Wedding

While touring Boston venues, Mary Kate and Eddie fell in love with the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor Hotel and knew it was perfect for their wedding! Mary Kate is from Dorchester and Eddie is from Charlestown, so they wanted their wedding day to represent their love for each other, as well as the city they both grew up in.

These two are the sweetest couple and they love to have fun! They are laid back and make it easy to become instant friends with them. In true Boston fashion, they are ready to host their friends for any football game, hockey game, or Sunday Funday, and tend to be the default place for gatherings. Bringing their friends and families together to celebrate their marriage was so much fun. It was one of the most personalized and unique weddings I have ever captured.

Unique & Personalized Boston Wedding

We started the day getting ready at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor. One of the many reasons they chose this venue was because of the views! The hotel sits right on the water and has a perfect view of the Boston Harbor and skyline. You can see the Bunker Hill Monument in the distance, which was special to them since their ceremony and the rehearsal dinner the night before was hosted in Charlestown.

We headed to Charleston for their ceremony at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Guests were greeted with traditional Irish music by a bagpipe player as they entered the church. As soon as the couple exchanged “I do’s” the wedding party and family hopped on an iconic Boston trolley, ready to kick off the festivities.

Our first stop was at the historic Warren Tavern. The couple’s friends and family gathered to toast the happy couple in the heart of Charlestown, one of the places they love to go out together. After some drinks, we got back in the trolly and headed to Pier’s Park in East Boston. This location provided an alternative viewpoint of the skyline.

As cocktail hour began, we took portraits with Mary Kate and Eddie with the skyline view as our backdrop. Then we took a water taxi ride through Boston Harbor! It was a beautiful sunny summer day on the Harbor!  The taxi was right out front of the venue and the route took us to Long Wharf and back. I loved the view of their venue from the boat! While this was a fantastic experience, it also gave them some alone time to just soak in the moment.

They made it back before the end of cocktail hour and were reintroduced with bagpipes.  It was such a fun night of dancing, laughter, and unforgettable memories. They were such a fun couple! The sunset was unreal, so we snuck outside to take some additional photos before heading back onto the dance floor.

This wedding day was so unique and truly catered to the personalities of the couple!  They included everything that they loved: the city, their favorite bar, and being surrounded by their favorite people. They went outside of the box of a traditional wedding and made sure they did what they wanted to do!  I think it’s a great reminder to couples that they don’t have to sacrifice their favorite things when planning their wedding!
