A snowy winter engagement session in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.
On a chilly February day, we headed up to Crawford Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire for Breanna and Ryan’s winter engagement session! Breanna and Ryan spend time in Crawford Notch and Mount Willard each summer. It was important to them to capture their photos in a place that is meaningful and special to them so we all traveled up from Massachusetts to visit this beautiful setting!
We lucked out the night before their session with a perfect snowfall. Since we haven’t had much snow in Massachusetts these past few winters, it was a treat to capture a snowy landscape and see everything glistening in fresh snow. Luckily it was a sunny day on the day of their session, which helped brighten everything up despite it still being cold!
Even though the temperatures were chilly, we embraced the adventure and met around midday to explore the area. Breanna and Ryan braved the cold with such good spirits, bundling up in cozy sweaters and jackets as the day progressed. We wandered through some hiking paths with incredible views overlooking the notch, capturing moments that truly reflected their connection with nature and each other. We got to bring along their two pups who loved being out in the snow of course!
The day felt more like an adventure than a formal portrait session which was such a fun change of pace. My favorite thing about engagement sessions is getting to know the couple before their wedding day. Building that connection with them during the session always makes the photography journey so special. Some of my favorite photos were the ones where we paused to just take in the stunning scenery around us!
The couple’s relaxed, easygoing energy perfectly matched the peaceful, natural setting. It was a memorable day, and the snowy scenery added an extra layer of magic to their engagement session! I can’t wait for their 2025 winter wedding at Owl’s Nest in New Hampshire.
