Crane Estate Engagement Session

Katie and Drew’s Crane Estate engagement session was truly unforgettable! It was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and natural beauty. With heavy thunderstorms lingering in the Boston area that morning, we were all worried we might need to reschedule the session. We checked the radar and decided to head to Ipswich anyway, hoping for clear skies. We were pleasantly surprised to find bright, sunny skies over the Estate when we arrived! The storm turned out to be a blessing because it left the grounds unusually quiet for a midday session so we were able to explore and enjoy the property without interruption. 

Katie and Drew shared that quality time is their mutual love language. They are a quiet, romantic, and easygoing couple who enjoy traveling, skiing, golfing, and spending time with their families. Their shared passions and laid-back nature make them a perfect match, and my goal was to capture this essence in their engagement photos.

Crane Estate Engagement Session

This was my first time photographing at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate and I was blown away. As a Trustees member, I was able to secure a permit to photograph on-site, ensuring everything went smoothly. Its polished gardens, rolling lawns, and water views exude a sense of refined charm and tranquility. They selected two outfits that perfectly complemented the elegant, historic charm of the Estate as well as the coastal atmosphere. Their outfits were also selected to match the color scheme and aesthetic of their wedding at Owl’s Nest Resort in NH.

My favorite photos captured during the engagement session were the quiet, intimate moments in the garden. With no one else around, Katie and Drew could simply enjoy each other’s company. We wandered through the lush greenery of the gardens and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect backdrop for them to be present and connected, creating heartfelt and genuine photographs.

Beach Engagement Photos at Crane Beach in Ipswich

After spending time at Crane Estate we took the short drive down the road to Crane Beach, another Trustee’s Property. It was the perfect location to easily capture some softer photos that were in contrast with the estate. Katie and Drew chose this location specifically to be able to capture a variety of photos amongst various backdrops during their engagement session. Crane Beach is simply stunning with miles of soft sand and a calming coastal shoreline. With the storms earlier in the day, we basically had the beach to ourselves!

We walked along the beach and among the dunes before celebrating with a champagne toast at the end of their session. Together, these locations provided a beautiful backdrop, combining historic elegance with relaxed, natural beauty, resulting in authentic and heartfelt photographs.
