Sara and Cleo’s intimate elopement in the Boston Public Garden.
Cleo and Sara’s Boston Public Garden elopement was a perfect reflection of their love story – intimate, heartfelt, and completely their own. They first connected while working in a lab, where lighthearted flirting grew into a life full of love and happiness. As proud Boston residents, the city holds a special place in their hearts, making it the ideal backdrop for their elopement.
It was the perfect warm, sunny summer day in Boston. We began the day with a quiet morning getting ready at the Newbury Hotel. Just the two of them got ready together, which made the morning feel so intimate and special. I photographed their details including them helping each other put on their dresses and final touches. They each carried a stunning, bright bridal bouquet that was perfect for a summer wedding. While the bouquets had the same vibrant flowers, they were made specifically for them in size and design. They showcased their individuality with accessories and attire that was so gorgeous!
We took a few portraits inside the hotel before heading across the street to the Public Garden in the mid-afternoon. About 15 of their closest family and friends were waiting for us under a lush willow tree. They were greeted with hugs and excitement from everyone, which was such a special and different way to enter the ceremony! They exchange emotional, heartfelt vows with their ceremony officiated by their friend.
From there we spent the next couple of hours taking couple’s portraits in some of their favorite Boston neighborhoods including the Public Garden, Beacon Hill, and Back Bay. The neighborhoods are so easy to walk to on foot! Everyone was congratulating them as we were strolling around. These casual candid moments as we walked were some of my favorites of the day. They finished their elopement with dinner at Little Donkey which I did not capture, but from what I heard it was amazing!
I loved how Cleo and Sara’s Boston Public Garden elopement was so personal and tailored to exactly what they were hoping for. The entire day was very laid back, going with the flow, without rushing around at all. We quickly became friends and that’s such a special part of this job! I am always honored to be a part of your love story.
